On My Favourite Music
After a week of partying, late nights, suntanning and alcoholic intoxication, it's time for a chillout week (except for Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, but we'll see about that). So here I am lounging at home listening (and watching) my favourite music.

Bette Midler - Mambo Italiano

The original by Rosemary Clooney is much more soulful, but Bette Midler would do too. The Shaft remix is an excellent song for just solo dancing in an air-conditioned room, locked up.

Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros - Mondo Bongo

Every living soul who knows me well should know that I love this song. Sensual and relaxing and groovy at the same time.

Dick Dale - Misirlou

Probably the coolest song ever, compared to the emo shit that we get these days. Emo people should be left alone, let them cut themselves up and then die. But I digress: this song is really cool. Imagine driving in a convertible down a highway, the scene a bird's eye view of you driving, slowly swooping down nearer and nearer, until it's panning beside your car. You lift up your shades, one hand on the wheel, the other dangling precariously at your door. Wow whee.

Stylophonic - Dancefloor

It sounds irritating at first but it sort of grows on you. This is the song with the Promiscuous video by Nelly Furtado. Quite well done, from the fact that the golden hues go quite well with the Dolce & Gabbana theme where this song came from.

Alex Gaudino - Destination Calabria

Another hot favourite at clubs. Cool song hot chicks badass instruments.
